High Park: Cherry Blossoms

A little different than my usual posts of food porn. Scared of the thunderstorm warning that was set out by the Weather Network, we decided to go to High Park to see the flowers in the evening. It was very gloomy, which washed out a lot of the colours from the flowers. There were tonnes of people celebrating mother's day or just looking at the flowers, but luckily not crowded enough not to take some good shots.

Most of the trees were pretty tall. Short people problems. Nonetheless the rainy sunset in the background really accentuates the cherry blossoms.

There were still a couple of trees that didn't have blossoms on them yet. Hopefully the thunderstorm didn't take most of the flowers off the trees though. These delicate flowers don't last very long, especially with strong winds! A lot of the petals already made it to the ground, and it hasn't been long since they've been fully bloomed.

I love macro shots! It takes you up and personal to the object. Fortunately, further down the path there were a couple of shorter trees that I am able to be close to.

The sunset peaking through the tree -this is probably one of my favourite shots!
